Bark scorpions are quite common in Arizona. They can be found indoors, usually in undisturbed areas such as closets, shoes, or folded clothes. Damp bath mats, towels, or clothes on the floor will also attract them. The sting can be comparable to a bee or wasp. However, for the very young or old, or those sensitive or allergic, scorpions can be dangerous

They usually feed at night on live insects. During the day they hide under bark, fence block, ceiling tile, or woodpiles. They can also be found in the dead leaf litter under bushes and ground cover, as well as any area that tends to harbor insects.
